Maria is a Senior Director at a global biopharmaceutical company. She has 7 years’ experience in developing new treatments for chronic and life-threatening diseases. Her clinical interests include Rheumatology, Immunology, Dermatology and Oncology.

Maria qualified as a Rheumatologist and spent 12 years working in the NHS working in the South West and the West Midlands. She holds a PhD from the University of Birmingham having completed the prestigious Wellcome Trust Fellowship researching disease mechanisms in arthritis. She has extensively presented and published her research nationally and internationally.

Maria enjoys travelling and spending time with family and friends. She is passionate about supporting the needs of people living in Wokingham and strongly identifies with the vision and values of Citizens Advice.
