Universal Support Telephone Adviser

Citizens Advice is set to deliver a new service called “Universal Support: Help to Claim” which offers end-to-end support to help people make a new Universal Credit claim and be ready for when their first payment arrives.

We are looking for an adviser with good IT skills to support clients to make and complete their new Universal Credit claim, as well as a commitment to the aims and principles of the Citizens Advice Service.
You’ll have the ability to interview clients using sensitive listening and questioning skills to get to the root of the issues and empower clients, whilst maintaining structure and control of meetings.

Salary: up to £23,460 pro rata, dependent on experience + 10% pension

Hours: 7.5 hours per week

Contract: Fixed term – 12 months

Advice Session Supervisor (or Trainee)

We are looking to expand our supervision team, who work closely with the Advice Service Manager, who will work across both of our advice centres. You will be responsible for the day to day supervision of the advice team as they provide advice and information face to face, via email and on the telephone and ensuring that the advice meets quality standards.

You will be a trained Advice Session Supervisor or you will hold a Generalist Advice Certificate who is willing to complete Supervisor training. We will also consider applicants who have experience of working in the advice sector and in addition have experience of managing volunteers.

Salary: up to £23,460 pro rata, dependant on experience + 10% pension

Hours: 16 hours per week

Community Outreach Adviser

We are delighted to launch our new Community Advice project in Gorse Ride, Finchampstead and St Sebastian’s, Wokingham Without. This follows a successful funding bid to Wokingham United Charities. You will be responsible for delivering generalist advice casework to the residents of Gorse Ride and St Sebastian’s. You will work with stakeholders in the area to build relationships and engage with residents who will benefit from our support.

We are looking for a candidate with a Generalist Advice Certificate or willing to train as soon as possible – recognising that a lot of the training is self study packs. We will also consider applicants who have experience of working in the advice
sector and in addition have experience of managing volunteers.

Salary: up to £23,460 pro rata, dependent on experience + 10% pension

Hours: 15 hours per week. (please note that we have put 16 hours in the job pack, but this was an oversight. Funding is for 15 hours per week)
